South Yorkshire Supertram South Yorkshire Supertram, owned by Stagecoach, is the most extensive Tram system in England, with 3 major branches and 2 spurs, a considerable length of which is on the street. The original DC Power Distribution SCADA system was designed and installed in 1994 and has recently been replaced by a system based upon Panorama, utilising modern technology in order to provide an operational, millennium compliant cost effective upgrade. The system comprises of 12 Transmitton MT700 Remote Telemetry Units and 2 Panorama Stations operating under NT with fully redundancy of the PCs, communication links and TCP/IP networks. The system, based in the main control centre, monitors and controls the current breakers and trackside equipment, through the provision of Dynamic Graphical views, Alarms, Trends, Security of system access, historical data archiving/analysis/replay and reporting facilities. Stagecoach now benefit from a highly reliable solution that they can easily maintain and develop to suit their growing needs. |
