Ratp The RATP run Paris's Metro System, which comprises of 250 stations in and around Paris. Each station requires an information system in order to operate. Some 300+ Panorama licences have been installed to date, which monitor water levels, air quality, HVAC, lighting and radio calls. The system enables the operators to control the escalators, tannoy messages, information boards and video surveillance cameras, which are fully integrated into the application. Panorama also monitors and alarms the movement and storage of cash. The systems are usually arranged in groups of 2 redundant Panorama servers and 15 Panorama client workstations, connected to around 1500 PLCs from either Siemens, Schneider, or both. Remote access via a WAN is provided for remote maintenance and all 25,000 I/O variables and 35,000 derived variables are stored in real-time via SQL into ORACLE database, for sharing throughout the organisation. The system gives more information to the operator, in a manner more easy to access and with more analysis performed in real-time than with the previous systems. Hence, the operator reacts to a field event much faster and more accurately than ever before. |
