Micro
Concept Cars located at Hambach eastern France is the manufacturing plant,
that produces the "Smart Car" for Daimler Chrysler. Panorama
is used in multiple applications in the plant, both in Production Systems
and Building Management.
Building Management
The Security, Fire Alarm, Evacuation and Facilities Management of the main manufacturing plant and 4 satellite buildings are controlled and monitored by Panorama.
The
application comprises of 4 PANORAMA Workstations running Windows NT over
an Ethernet TCP/IP network communicating to 7 SIEMENS S5 PLC's via Applicom
Industrial Ethernet adapters, handling approximately 10,000 I/O.
Production
The Production application monitors the robot assembly stations in all buildings. The system logs all required production parameters transfers them in real time directly into a Microsoft SQL Server database, which is fully integrated with the Panorama application. The logging of data for Quality Control purposes and for product tracking of cars in production is performed by the SQL database. The system also provides production and productivity calculations and reports.
The system comprises 4 Panorama Workstations running Windows NT over an Ethernet TCP/IP network communicating to 10 SIEMENS S5 PLC's via Applicom Industrial Ethernet adapters, handling approximately 12,000 I/O.
