The launch of the the latest "web" technologies

These technologies allow you to take a standard PANORAMA application and to run it using a standard Internet Browser, such as "Microsoft Internet Explorer", on your company Intranet.
Panorama.net also has the ability to offer the same functionality to publish on an "Internet" or on an "Extranet" so that any authorised Internet User can have access to the application from any where on the planet.

We would like to point out that this fonctionality isn't designed to replace standard or critical operator terminals within an application. Panorama.net gives the ability to run a second level of "Consultation" or "Surveillance". It is however possible to control setpoints and to change variables from the remote supervisor terminal.
The technologies used by Panorama.net are directly implemented on the Web Server which uses the "http" protocol on port "80"; and in the other case as an application under "Terminal Server" (this is far less secure because it uses the "RDP" protocol on a different port).

The example that we show you here is on the internet (using Codra's extranet).

The Panorama.net objects are all structured in XML (eXtend Markup Language) and all the views are published using SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format. This is the DAO standard for the Internet defined by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). This organisation defines the standards by which the Internet Users maintain their independance from the software producers.
